n 1980, Evelyn Miller, pianist, devoted teacher, and visionary, realized her dream to establish a concert series for young (under 35) international artists – the YOUNG PIANIST SERIES. Since its beginning, more than 80 concert pianists from all over the world have performed on this unique series.
Eric Zuber
One of the leading American pianists of his generation, Eric Zuber has won major prizes in seven of the world’s most prestigious international piano competitions: Cleveland, Arthur Rubinstein, Seoul, Sydney, Dublin, Minnesota and Hilton Head. He was also recently awarded the Arthur Rubenstein Prize for his outstanding achievements by The Juilliard School.
Zuber has captivated critics and audiences alike with his sensitive and insightful artistry. The New York Times‘ Allan Kozinn hailed his recital debut at Carnegie hall, calling his playing “irresistibly fluid,” while applauding his “vividly crisp articulation” and “solid technique.” The New York Concert Review said that he “was a breath of fresh air…Mr. Zuber struck one as an especially thoughtful player who happens to possess technical brilliance…and the calm mastery of a seasoned veteran.”
Mr. Zuber has appeared at the Kennedy Center, Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall, the Sydney Opera House, and and Severance Hall. After making his orchestral debut at the age of twelve with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, he has gone on to perform with the Cleveland Orchestra, the Israel Philharmonic, the Minnesota Symphony, the Korean Symphony and Ireland’s RTE National Symphony Orchestra, among many others.
